The studio

Yu Xiong (Yuna), interior designer

XY Design Studio is Yu Xiong's cross-cultural interior practice, connecting experience in Chengdu and New York.

Trained at Syracuse University and Pratt Institute, Yuna has spent ten years in licensed practice in the United States, on residential, commercial and healthcare interiors. That experience informs a clear studio position: global thinking about health, longevity and resource use matters most when it becomes a locally specific home—one that works beautifully now and adapts as life changes.

01

Approach

Materials with a future

We begin with real samples and ask how each material is made, maintained, repaired and likely to age.

Global principles, local answers

International standards for health and resource use are translated through local climate, craft and daily ritual.

Built for change

Detailing for durability and aging-in-place, so a home keeps working as life changes around it.
